Pyaar Ko Ho Jaane Do Is Different Both In Terms Of Content And Treatment – Iqbal Khan

Iqbal Khan is quite gungho about his new Sony show Pyaar Ko Ho Jaane Do. “For our show is different from the rest. First the concept of having a terrorist in your house is not run of the mill. I think it is the first in desk TV. My enemy agent character Ishaan Hooda/Rizwan Ahmed Khan is also not shown as normal bad guys are he is just like you and me but with a nefarious purpose. We also want to clearly show that terror has no religion. You can’t expect us to do more as we still have to live within the boundaries of daily soaps.”
He goes on, “The second big change is the treatment, you will not see our character’s screaming at each other, rather we have normal conversation which happen in every household. The setting and language is not immaculate you know what I mean. Ekta Kapoor clearly told me she did not want to follow common daily soaps mechanism’s.”
You have been around for years what have you learnt about the trade? “We TV actors work so much that acting comes automatically. I had debuted at a time (Kaisa Ye Pyar Hai 2005) when everything was loud and over the top. I have consciously taken a decision to stay away from the above zone.”
But the ratings of Pyaar Ko Ho Jaane Do are low ? “Ekta had changed the face of TV before, I hope she does again!”
Iqbal who also took part in Khatron Ke Khiladi last season says, “the experience was something out of the world. I am always an adventure guy and this show pushed the limit’s a bit with the danger element. One of the main reasons why I said yes was that there was no judging or voting. You complete the given task you are through if not you are out, simple.”
What about the rumour that you leave our show’s in the middle?, “I can continue to be part of any project only if the story is not tampered with. For me totality of the show and my character are the most important elements for me. If this happen I feel out of place and prefer to make an exit as I don’t want to be left holding the sack. And my gut has proved right for most of those show’s (Tumhari Pakhi) wrapped after my exit anyways, except for Karam Apna Apna. Here I wish to add that Tumhari Pakhi did not shut down because of me leaving it did because the story went awry. No actor can claim that he is the life line of any show, TV is essentially a writer’s medium.”
