The jewellery brand that featured Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was caught in a racism row as it showed a small dark-skinned boy as a slave.
The brand after facing flak from media, decided to pull off the ad. They recently issued a statement on a social networking site that read: “The creative was intended to present the royalty, timeless beauty and elegance. However, if we have inadvertently hurt the sentiments of any individual or organisation, we deeply regret the same. We have started the process of withdrawing this creative from our campaign.” Hence the ad would no longer be promoted.
Earlier Aishwarya’s spokesperson too made an official statement stating that the actress was not responsible for the outcome of the process.
