I quit when every top producer wanted to cast me: Preity Zinta

Preity Zinta is the Bollywood actress with a rare kind of spunk and admirable guts. After her Karan Johar movie in 2006, ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’, Preity ventured out into the world of business, and gave her Bollywood career a rest. The actress did come out with a home production ‘Ishkq in Paris’ in 2013 though the movie did not fare well at the box office. However, there is no stopping Preity who is a successful entrepreneur and the co-owner of a cricket team.

In an interview with Mumbai Mirror Preity spoke about this tough choice. She said, “I quit when every top producer wanted to cast me, to become an entrepreneur. Why should an actress remain one all her life when she’s capable of so much more? If another NRI love-story came my way, I’d have stabbed the hero.”

The actress also mentioned that she has not lost touch with her Bollywood friends. Apparently, she is in touch with Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Rani Mukerji. Like many B-town celebs, Preity has also ventured into the world of television. “It’s more than just dance, the show is about compatibility between couples. I remember, once I was angry with my co-star and thus couldn’t get a scene right. I either put my heart into it or I’m just not there.”
