Gurmeet Choudhary fans are eagerly waiting for the release of his second film Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laddoo Deewana. He plays the parallel lead, with Vivaan Shah and Akshara Haasan as the main pair.
We hope this time around this highly talented actor gets enough screen space to showcase his wares. He was hardly around his debut Khamoshiyan, and yet the producer used his powerful romantic small screen persona to promote the above supernatural thriller. Hence when it tanked, the blame fell on Gurmeet’s shoulders when he was just a bit player. We pray that in the future Gurmeet gets solo flicks like Karan Singh Grover.
In the meantime Gurmeet should not abandon TV and come back with limited fiction series. Doing just nonfiction is not good enough, for his main fan base are young girls who want to watch their favourite actor 5-7 days a week. And more importantly he is better able to win the love of the audiences playing characters. Talent based shows unfortunately end up generating negative vibes due to the competitive zeal of the format. And sorry to say he has overdone the reality (Nach Baliye, Jhalak and KKK etc) bit.
The success of Geet on international platforms like MBC (Middle East) will surely open more vista for him. Already Arabs fan are getting crazy after him. He also might be offered shows and films out there like Shaheer Sheikh did in Indonesia after Mahabharat. Despite being a TV actor, Gurmeet has managed to create strong brand image that he is called for major film events. This is a very good omen for our small screen players, who need to come out of their limited outreach.
It would be fun if he also agrees to be part of an edgy web series. His cool boy image can help sell topics like live in, gay issues etc in a mature realistic manner. It would be nicer if he and better half Debina produce a romantic digital series featuring both.
Last but not the least, we must confess that Gurmeet is one of the better looking TV actors of the day. His sultry looks and happily married status makes him more desirable than ever.
Besides acting, Gurmeet should also try his hands at hosting, it would be fun to see another side of his multi faceted personality.
