Farhan Akhtar, who recently became the UN Women’s Goodwill Ambassador attended his first meeting with the team at the United Nations Conference in New York. Farhan engaged in meaningful conversations with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. He also met up with Meryl Streep, Chris Martin, Anne Hathway and Dakota Fanning who all did their bit to support gender equality.
Farhan has since been active on Twitter and is supporting various causes on gender equality. Today Farhan tweeted, “When local administration starts giving in to fatwa’s and cancels a women’s sporting event, you know there’s a rot in the system. #shame.”
