Kumar Sanu is making his Bollywood debut this year with Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’. The singer will play a cameo as himself in the movie.
In an interaction with Pinkvilla, asked if he was surprised when approached for the cameo, the ‘Kuch na kaho’ singer said, “No I wasn’t. The script had a requirement for Kumar Sanu to appear. I heard the script properly before agreeing to do it.”
“Once I heard the narration though, gradually, I really liked the story and found my interest growing. Immediately I agreed to do the film & to act in it. And I enjoyed the shooting process a lot too,” he added.
Directed by Sharat Katariya, ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ also marks the Bollywood debut of Bhumi Pednekar. It will hit the screens on February 27.
Kumar Sanu also commented on the changing music scene in the country and said that these days people don’t listen to songs, but instead they watch them.
“All I will say that people these days they don’t listen to music but watch them. And my point is that people watch this song to check out how vulgar it is, and how much skin show is visible. That’s become core to the song & it’s entertainment value. The value of melody & lyrics is quite lost,” he said.
