Would you like to see Divyanka in a Bollywood movie? Let us know in the comments below.
Earlier, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, we had gotten in touch with the talented actor to quiz her on how does she see the status of women elevate over the years in the industry, per se. To this, Divyanka said, “Now we see more of female-oriented films being made. This clearly indicates that there’s a certain rise in feminism amongst audience, men and women alike. Yet there’s a long way to go. Women-oriented films should be so much a part of the industry that it should sound too obvious like having a mobile phone in each household.”
She added, “As far as TV is concerned, I’m proud to say – it’s ruled by women! Homemakers can always draw examples from the woman power working for Indian Television and get inspired.”
With feminism being the most misunderstood word in the world today, we also asked Divyanka her definition of feminism.
“For me, feminism is not about fighting for women rights and taking out morchas. It’s deeper. It’s an idea that should run in the families from generations to generations empowering women and making men aware about woman’s power and honour at the grass root level itself,” Divyanka earnestly added.
