After making a name for herself in the international music industry, Priyanka Chopra made her Bollywood singing debut with “Mary Kom”. She will soon be heard in her forthcoming movie “Dil Dhadakne Do”, where she has sung a duet with Farhan Akhtar.
According to Hindustan Times, Farhan has revealed that he heard Priyanka sing for the first time during the shoot of “Don 2” in 2006 and he insisted her to take it up professionally.
“I remember, around Don 2 (2006), I had heard her singing. She had recorded a cover song and made me hear it. She just told me that she wanted me to hear something, and then gave me the headphones. I said, ‘Wow, who is this?’, to which she replied that it was her voice. I told her to sing professionally, which she finally did. After that, I urged her to perform live, and now, she’s doing that too,” the “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” star said.
Farhan and Priyanka’s duet in “Dil Dhadakne Do” is a smouldering smoky love ballad steeped in nostalgia and longing.
Directed by Zoya Akhtar, “Dil Dhadakne Do” also features Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, Anil Kapoor and Shefali Shah.
