Mrunal Jain had to lose out a good chance to make his presence felt on the small screen in a highly rated television show by Balaji Telefilms.
The show in question is ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ which stars Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel. Mrunal was recently approached by Balaji Telefilms to play an important role opposite Divyanka as her lover in the upcoming track. Unfortunately, the deal did not work out as Mrunal, who is currently working in ZEE TV’s ‘Bandhan’, fell short of dates for the show.
The Tv hunk Mrunal Jain who is currently seen in Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s Bandhan had debuted with Ekta Kapoor’s Kahani Hamari Mahabharat Ki and had also done Ekta Kapoor’s Bandini was approached for a role opposite Divyanka Tripathi in Ye Hai Mohabatein.
“Mrunal would have fit the bill perfectly, but the dates couldn’t be worked out as Bandhan’s set is in Umargaon. We wanted him to shoot with us immediately, which was not possible for him,” says a source associated with YHM.
Another source says that Mrunal was keen on accepting the offer from Balaji Telefilms as it would have been a reunion of sorts for the actor. “Mrunal was keen on taking up the offer as Divyanka is a top actress on television right now and the show is a huge hit. Also, returning to Ekta Kapoor’s camp would have been a homecoming for him. But it was highly impossible to shuttle between the two far-off sets.”
For those who are unaware of Mrunal’s long-standing association with Ekta Kapoor, the actor had debuted with Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki’ and later did a role in ‘Bandini’ which was again a Balaji product
