The debut venture of Sonam Kapoor’s baby brother Harshvardhan Kapoor and Tanvi Azmi’s niece, Saiyami Kher, “Mirziya” is an extravagant affair. The film is helmed by Rakesh Omprakash Mehra and we all know that this man has an eye for detail. He proved that well in his last outing “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag”.
In a particular wedding sequence in the film which was Rajasthani style, the director wanted to make sure that everything seemed authentic and perfect. He carefully monitored and arranged for costumes and other details that went into the sequence. Saiyami’s wedding in the film is on a lavish scale and is deemed to be one of the crucial points of the film.
As the scene had to look perfect, the director wanted every junior artiste to look aptly dressed. He had 500 padgis, jootis and costumes made for all of them. Rakesh even made sure that every minute detail was looked after. Plus, there were as many as five trucks of marigold flowers, which were used while filming the nuptial scene.
Mirziya is Rakesh’s most cherished project and is based on the tale of Mirza Sahiba, but this one would be set in Rajasthan. It is said to be a modern day love story based on the tragic one.
