Ever since John Cena made his debut in WWE, it’s difficult to picture Wrestlemania without the 16-time champion. This year, at Wrestlemania 35, many expected that John would be bestowed with the honour of competing against Kurt Angle in the Olympic Gold Medalist’s retirement match. However, it ultimately went into the hands of Baron Corbin, much to the chagrin of the WWE Universe. However, Kurt had admitted during an interview that Cena would still be making an appearance at Wrestlemania 35, and that was indeed true!
WORD LIFE started playing in the background with THUGANOMICS splashed across the pyro which had the WWE Universe on their feet cheering for the Dr. of Thuganomics. Cena went old-school and took us back to 2004 with his rapper gimmick as he interrupted Elias’ rant. With zingers like “This means #WalkWithElias? Nah, I’m not really feelin’ it. Because without the guitar, what it really means is Wasted Wrestling Experiment,” fans could not get enough of Cena and the overwhelming welcome he received was proof of that! Cena ended the night with the trademark Attitude Adjustment to Elias.
Meanwhile, Wrestlemania 35 has been a great show so far with Seth Rollins slaying The Beast, Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship and Kofi Kingston having his childhood dreams come true as he reigned supreme and beat Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship.
There are rumours still brewing that Cena might be the guest referee for the Kurt Angle vs. Baron Corbin match but right now, that seems highly unlikely.
