Millions were glued to the television on Sunday, June 16, to witness yet another India vs Pakistan match. The two countries clashed on the field for the seventh time in an ICC World Cup tournament. With Virat Kohli leading the team this time around, the Men In Blue beat the neighbouring country by 89 runs through the DLS method. Although the match was a treat for crickets lovers, Ranveer Singh added a cherry on top with his commentary. The actor was at the Manchester ground to join the commentators in the commentary room and it was a sight to see.

The actor, who slips into the shoes of Kapil Dev in ’83, gave us a glimpse at his commentary before the match began. He eventually took over the mic for a bit in the commentatory room. The actor went on to win the hearts of social media users with his ecstatic energy in the match. Videos of the actor cheering for the team, bonding with the team members and more took no time to go viral. Soon after, Indian Cricket Captain Virat Kohli took to Instagram and shared a few photos from the match, congratulating his team and thanking fans.

Ranveer took to comment section and congratulated Kohli on his performance as well. The actor wrote, “GIANTS !!!!!!…. unforgettable team performance !!! Bossman VK leading from the front inspiration to a whole generation BRAVO, KAPTAAN !!!”

Not only did Virat lead the brigade to a memorable victory, but he also put up a great performance which helped India put up a good score. The Indian captain scored 77 runs during the match. What a commendable job, team India!

Meanwhile, Ranveer is in the UK filming for his upcoming cric-flick ’83. The movie is directed by Kabir Singh and it based on the 1983 World Cup. It is scheduled to release in summer 2020.
