Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan are all set to reunite for Bilal Lashari’s Maula Jatt. The film is touted to be one of Pakistan’s most expensive action films and will also co-star Hamza Ali Abbasi and Humaima Malick in lead roles. Mahira and Fawad were seen in Humsafar, and the two are much loved for their stint in the feature film. The film was set to be a reboot version of the iconic Maula Jatt (1979), however, turns out it is a continuation of Nasir Adeeb’s series instead.
The film has finally got a release date and it is slated for a release on Eid-Ul-Fitr 2019. Salman Khan’s film with Katrina Kaif, Bharat too, is slated for a release next year and the legendary Maula Jatt might clash with the much anticipated Bollywood film. The film will see Fawad Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi take on the iconic characters of Maula Jatt and Noori Natt, respectively. With the release date now out, its teaser is being much awaited, and well, we bet the fans will be in for a treat once that happens.
Last year, when the Uri attacks led to a ban on Pakistani artists in Indian movies, Fawad happened to be embroiled in the controversy too. The actor was last seen in Kapoor & Sons, and was quoted as in a Pakistani daily, talking about his friends here in Bollywood, and stated how nothing much has changed and he is still in touch with a lot of friends here.
