Taylor Swift recalls her ‘Famous’ feud with Kanye West; calls the rapper two faced

Taylor Swift is not keeping calm when it comes to talking about her ‘Famous’ feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, spilling more details of what really went down between the two musicians. For the uninitiated, in 2016, Kanye’s song Famous featured a very controversial line on Taylor and when Swift revealed that she was not consulted about it, Kim released a phone recording between her husband and T-Swift. Before that, there was the 2009 VMAs, when the 42-year-old rapper stole Taylor’s thunder by exclaiming on stage that Beyoncé deserved the Best Female Video instead!

In her interview to Rolling Stone, Taylor revealed that when she and Kanye reconnected, after the whole 2009 VMAs fiasco, the singer felt great because all she wanted in her whole career back then was for the rapper to respect her. She hated the fact that in spite of antagonising her, Swift just wanted West’s approval! The 29-year-old also shared that when they would go for dinners, Kanye would say really nice things about her music which seemed to Taylor like she was healing some “childhood rejection” when she was 19.

Recalling the 2015 VMAs when she presented the Vanguard Award to Kanye, Taylor shared that she was asked by the rapper himself to present the award as it would mean so much to him. Swift shared that she was stoked to be asked by Kanye as he can be the “sweetest!”

However, after her speech for Kanye, West took a double turn and shouted, “MTV got Taylor Swift up here to present me this award for ratings!” While standing in the audience, Taylor felt a chill run through her body as Kanye said this while having her arm around Kim K. “I realized he is so two-faced. That he wants to be nice to me behind the scenes, but then he wants to look cool, get up in front of everyone and talk s***. And I was so upset,” Swift confessed.

The Shake It Off singer also touched upon the flowers she was sent by Kanye after she refused to talk to him post the 2015 VMAs. She decided that she doesn’t want to be on bad terms and move past it. In reference to the phone recording that Kim leaked, Taylor stated that when Kanye called her and was respectful, telling her about this one line in the song, Swift actually believed that they were back on good terms. And then, Famous released!

“And then when I heard the song, I was like, ‘I’m done with this. If you want to be on bad terms, let’s be on bad terms, but just be real about it,” Taylor stated. Swift added that the world didn’t understand the context of what led to the final fallout between herself and Kanye as nothing ever happens without some lead-up. It wasn’t just Taylor Swift getting pissed out at Kanye West for a lyric in a song. It was more than just a “singular event.” “Basically, I got really sick of the dynamic between he and I. And that wasn’t just based on what happened on that phone call and with that song — it was kind of a chain reaction of things,” Swift revealed.

“I really don’t want to talk about it anymore because I get worked up, and I don’t want to just talk about negative s*** all day,” T-Swift concluded.
