Few actors choose art cinema, while majority of the actors opt for commercial cinema with an intention to get more popularity.
Tamannaah Bhatia, who has been active in Bollywood and Telegu and Tamil cinema as well, chose the commercial cinema in order to achieve her stardom and she has no regrets about it. Tamannaah, who has also been a part of regional cinema, has also done commercial films in Bollywood like Himmatwala,Entertainment and Humshakals.
However, these films could not pick up a pace at the box-office. Now, after a gap, the actress has signed another Bollywood film made under the banner of Vasu Bhagnani films where she will be seen playing the role of a deaf and mute girl.
Speaking to a leading daily, the Baahubali actress confessed it that she owes her stardom to commercial cinema. She said, “After Himmatwala, Entertainment and Humshakals, I was getting similar roles and I didn’t want to repeat myself. I wanted to break the girl-next-door image. So when I was offered to play an aurally challenged character in Vasu (Bhagnani) sir’s film, I took it up instantly. I felt it is a great opportunity for me to play something different. I have even gone without make-up for this role.”
Tamannaah, who decided to wait till right projects came her way, added, “Whatever stardom I have today is because of the commercial films that I have done. I am a total believer of commercial films but that doesn’t make me averse to non-commercial cinema.”
Tamannaah’s new untitled Hindi film will also star Prabhudeva in a leading role. Speaking aboutcommercial movies, the actress also expressed her desire to work with Bollywood livewire Ranveer Singh.
“I love his work. His hardworking nature is also inspiring. I got to work with him for an ad and have seen his dedication. He works really hard on the look of his character so that his part looks convincing. Now that we know each other, I would love to collaborate with him for a film.”
Tamannaah and Ranveer Singh worked in an ad together a few months ago.
