Sonam Kapoor on being tagged as Deepika Padukone at Cannes: It’s an error not a misidentification

It seems the foreign media really need to check on the names of Bollywood stars after the have been wrongly identified Bollywood actresses as someone else on two occasions.

Deepika Padukone got upset when international media mistook her for Priyanka Chopra at the Met Gala fashion event held recently and now it is Sonam Kapoor who got mistaken as Deepika Padukone at the Cannes 2017.

Deepika Padukone went to the extent of tagging this incident as racism.

Now, while posting a picture of the Bollywood diva Sonam Kapoor, a popular American stock photo agency wrote, “Indian actress Deepika Padukone arrives for the film The Meyerowitz Stories in competition at the 70th Annual International Film Festival in Cannes, France on May 21, 2017.”

Sonam Kapoor, however, did not tag it as racism but rather gave a proper reply on her official Twitter account.

“One picture in a milieu of 1000s tagged right is an error not a misidentification. Gets your facts right don’t believe Pr’s.”

Well said, Sonam.

Sonam had a blast at the Cannes film festival this year. Sonam wore creations from Elie Saab, Anamika Khanna, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, and House of Masaba. The Neerja star had mentioned that she is not nervous as she is seldom criticized for her looks.

Sonam Kapoor is now back in Mumbai.  On the work front, the actress will begin prepping for her film Veere Di Wedding, which is being produced by sis Rhea Kapoor. The movie is touted as Kareena Kapoor Khan’s return to work post her maternity leave and will go on floors this August.
