Shraddha Kapoor, after Haseena, has signed yet another biopic. This time, the actress will step into Badminton champion Saina Nehwal’s shoes. The movie was announced recently and will be helmed by director Amole Gupte.
In an interview with a tabloid, when Shraddha was asked about doing the biopic, she said, “I have only a few months to look as professional as her. It’s definitely the toughest role of my career. It’s not going to be easy, but I am ready for the challenge. I will start training as soon as Half Girlfriend releases.”
She adds, “Biopics are usually made on public figures, so, to factually present it on celluloid and playing that character to perfection is important. I am excited to play Saina and plan to spend a lot of time with her to get a sense of her journey to the top. So far, we have exchanged SMSes, expressing excitement over the film.”
In an interview to another tabloid Shraddha explained, “I also played badminton and I’m thrilled that in my quest to be the former World No. 1 and a youth icon, I’ll get to train in the sport again. I’m sure it’s going to be my most difficult film yet as Saina has spent her whole life playing badminton and in the next few months, I have to get close to the standards she’s set,”
When asked about working with Amole Gupte, Shraddha said, “He has fabulous energy and so much love to give. Such people are rare.”
