Post wrapping up the promotions of Jabariya Jodi, which hit the screens today i.e. August 9, 2019, Sidharth Malhotra jetted off to Kargil to shoot for the second schedule of Shershaah, biopic on Vikram Batra, opposite Kiara Advani. As we all know, few days back, the BJP led government abolished Article 370 in Kashmir as Article 370 allows the state to have its own constitution, and now, with Article 370 revoked, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladhak have become Union Territories.
On Monday, hours after the government revoked Article 370, Sidharth Malhotra left for Kargil, as per schedule, the shooting of Shershaah was to kick start on Wednesday, but due to the restrictions imposed by the government as precautionary measures, some of the equipments got delayed, and as a result, the cast and the crew lost on time. “Some of the heavy equipment, like the lighting truck and some crew members, were delayed as their route to Kargil had to be diverted via Leh instead of Srinagar, where the situation is still said to be a little tense, Shabbir Boxwala, producer of the film informed Mirror.
Although there is a lot of security and checking and in and around Srinagar but otherwise, informs the producer, it is quite peaceful and the team of Shershaah is hoping to start the Kargil schedule as soon as possible and hope to catch up on the lost time. “Sidaharth and the rest of the cast and crew have got acclimatized to the setting in the last few days. Sid has also got extra time for his workout and prep,” producer said. Talking about Shershaah, Sidharth is going to play a double role in the film, and the first schedule of the film kick-started in Chandigarh.
