Shahid Kapoor is riding high on the success of Kabir Singh and rightly so because this actor deserves every bit of applause and appreciation for portraying the role of an alcoholic surgeon who is on the path of self destruction, after his girlfriend is forced to marry another man. While the film is going all guns blazing at the box office, there is a certain section of the society who have criticised the film for having undertones of misogyny.
That said, Kabir Singh has turned out to be Shahid Kapoor’s biggest solo film till date, and post the stupendous success of Kabir Singh, reports suggested that this Ishq Vishk actor has upped his fee to a whopping 35-40 crores. Reports suggested that post the success of Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoo has demanded Rs 40 crores for the remake of Telugu hit Jersey starring Nani and Shraddha Srinath. Now, in a recent interview, Shahid Kapoor opened up about the rumours of him charging a whopping Rs. 35 crores as fees post the success of Kabir Singh.
“I have to sign a film to receive any money. I think the only people who are making money are Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani. I have exactly the same bank balance I had before Kabir Singh, I have to sign another project before I get paid”, said Shahid, clearing the air surrounding fee hike. Kabir Singh, directed by Sandeep Vanga, has raked in a total of Rs 270.43 crore at the box office in thirty three days. Kabir Singh is the remake of Telugu film Arjun Reddy starring Vijay Deverakonda and the film has Kiara Advani romance Shahid Kapoor.
