He thanked the University of Law for honouring him with the doctorate and wrote it will encourage his team to do more good work. Khan tweeted, “Thank u for the honour @universityoflaw & my best wishes to the graduating students. It will encourage our team at @MeerFoundation to strive ‘selfishly’ to share more.”
At the graduation ceremony, SRK spoke about charity. The Dil Se actor said that charity should be done in silence and with dignity and one cannot speak about their charitable work as it loses its purpose. He added that he because of his privilege as a public personality, he can champion causes that are close to his heart.
The actor shared that he has actively participated in the causes of women empowerment, rehabilitation of the underprivileged and also basic human rights.
SRK said, “I firmly believe that I have to give back to the world that has given me so much. I am humbled with this honorary doctorate bestowed upon me and would like to thank everyone involved for choosing me.”
