Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati’s release NOT postponed
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati has been in news ever since it was announced. The periodic drama features Shahid Kapoor as Rawal Ratan Singh and Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh as Rani Padmini and Alauddin Khilji respectively.
The movie hit headlines after the crew was attacked in Jaipur earlier this year by the members of Rajput Karni Sena members. They even manhandled and physically assaulted the fimmaker during the incident. The vigilante group accused the filmmaker of distorting the facts. It all started when rumours were rife of an intimate scene to be shot between Rani Pamini and Alauddin Khilji. However, the makers later issued an official statement refuting the rumours.
However, the trouble didn’t end here. The shooting which had resumed in Kolhapur was once against interrupted after the Kari Sena members yet again vandalised the sets, setting it on fire. About 70-80% of the costumes were burnt to ashes in the incident.
Amidst all this, it was speculated that the films release date might be further postponed. However, good news for fans!
A source close to Bhansali Productions has clarified that the film will release as per scheduled. “There is no truth to the rumors. Padmavati will release this year as scheduled. As opposed to the reports of it being shifted to next , the film will release 17th November 2017 as planned,” said the source.
Great news indeed!
As of now, the film has started rolling in a popular studio in the city with the lead Shahid Kapoor filming his scenes. Deepika and Ranveer Singh will soon join the team and continue shooting for the film.
