Sanjay Dutt may have not had a spectacular start at the box office this year with Kalank, but the actor doesn’t seem to be frazzled by any of this. The actor is in a happy space as he is not just working in front of the camera but also making movies with his wife Maanyata. The couple reveal that producing movies is the next big step in Sanjay Dutt’s career. And with Prassthanam, remake of a Telugu film, the husband and wife are definitely taking it up a notch higher as it is their first Hindi production.
In an interview to Mumbai Mirror, Sanjay and Maanyata both revealed that Prassthanam is high on the emotional quotient. Apart from Dutt, the film also stars Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Pandey and Ali Fazal and is slated to release on 20 September. The actor also revealed how his wife Maanyata has been the backbone of the family and his biggest strength after he lost his dad.
When Maanayata was quizzed about the changes she has seen in Sanjay Dutt over the years, she said, “Earlier, he used to be disturbed, his father didn’t live to hear the court say that he was not a terrorist and acquit him from TADA charges. That had tarnished the family name and bothered him for years.
Sanjay Dutt added, “The dark clouds are gone, I am finally at peace. Like Chintu sir, I am happiest on a film set and now, I can do the work I want to do.” The actor, indeed, has an interesting lineup of films like Panipat, Shamshera and Prassthanam.
