“Salman Bhai sent me a suitcase full of jeans for Raja’s character in Judwaa 2”, says Varun Dhawan

For the first-time ever, the audience will get to watch Varun Dhawan in a double role. That’s right! As junior Dhawan has stared the shooting of ‘Papa’ Dhawan’s Judwaa 2, we are thrilled to watch Varun take the Judwaa legacy forward.

Yes, this is the sequel to the 1997 action comedy film Judwaa but more than being the sequel, there is a lot at stake. Well, Varun needs to buck up because the constant comparisons to Salman bhai, as Varun fondly calls him, are imminent.  A leading magazine quoted Varun as saying, “Judwaa 2 is a new story about two brothers. I don’t want to try and match the impact that Salman bhai, Sajid sir and may dad created in the first one. I just want to give the audiences a new experience.”

We can only imagine Varun’s age when Salman was filming Judwaa so much so that Varun recollected calling him ‘uncle’. The magazine stated Varun as saying, “I remember during the screening of Judwaa, I called him ‘uncle’. He said, ‘I’ll rap you if you call me uncle’.”

While we are all aware of Salman Khan’s sense of generosity and especially towards newcomers, and yet again, Salman proved why he is the bhai of the nation. To help Varun get in the skin of Raja’s character, Salman sent a suitcase full of jeans. The magazine quoted Varun, “He’s just sent me a suitcase full of jeans for Raja’s character in Judwaa 2. Bhai is proud of whatever I’ve done.” Aww, we love you, Mr. Khan!

This is the second collaboration of the father-son duo as earlier, David Dhawan had directed Varun in the 2014 Indian romantic comedy film, Main Tera Hero.
