Avengers: Endgame released over the weekend. The Marvel movie has been ruling the box office. The MCU movie opened to a record-breaking $350 million collection in North America and surpassed a massive $1.2 billion total on the worldwide front. If your jaws were dropping following the Avengers: Endgame box office collection, brace yourself for a bigger blow. An estimate salary of each Avengers: Endgame star has been revealed. And it features some mind-boggling figures. There is no prize for guessing the highest paid Avenger.
You guessed it right, Avengers: Endgame star Robert Downey Jr takes home the fattest pay cheque. As per The Hollywood Reporter, the Iron Man star draws the highest salary and it comes nowhere close to Captain America star Chris Evans and Thor actor Chris Hemsworth.
Although Evans and Downey have done more or less the same number of movies, THR reveals Downey is the highest paid Avenger. The report reveals that the actor earned about $75 million, which translates to Rs. 524 Crore INR, for his role in Avengers: Infinity War. Sources told THR that Downey had a unique financial negotiation with Marvel head Kevin Feige to “receive backend profit on the series.” As a result, Downey took home at least $75 million pay for ‘Infinity War.’
The international publication also reveals that the actor earned as much as $5 million per day for a three-day work schedule on Spider-Man: Homecoming. It is worthy to note that Robert was among the first few Hollywood stars who drew $20 million for a movie following the success of the Iron Man series.
Meanwhile, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth’s salary amount for their Marvel movies is nowhere close to Downey’s deal. The Thor actor, who signed his five-movie deal with Marvel Studios in 2010 and renegotiated a financial deal with the studio in 2017 for Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, draws a salary of $15 million to $20 million. Captain America star Chris Evans also renegotiated his deal with the studio ahead of Endgame. His pay scale stands between $15 million to $20 million.
Scarlett Johansson, who plays Black Widow in MCU, will soon be seen playing and producing a movie on the comic book character in a standalone movie. Her earning also comes around the range of $20 million.
Speaking about the future of MCU, the report states that returning actors like Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Renner have struck a separate deal with Marvel Studios for shows that have been planned for Disney+.
