Ranveer Singh has had the audience going gaga over his performance as Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. Ranveer’s energy and evil act in the film has won him appreciation from all quarters.
In the film, Ranveer shares quite a few scenes with Jim Sarbh, who essays the role of Malik Kafur. Ranveer and Jim have mentioned in quite a few interviews how having the other person on sets, made their job easy.
Ranveer spoke to a leading entertainment channel and talked about his co-stars. He said, “I genuinely believe you are as good as your co-actor, I have experienced it so many times with Anushka Sharma, Anil Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt now, Jim Sarbh in Padmaavat.”
He further said, “When you have somebody who is present, who is giving, who is connected it enriches and enhances your performance. I have been very blessed that in my journey I have had such special actors to collaborate with, to learn from. There are so many actors that I want to work with, where I feel I could learn so much. I hope to get those opportunities, Priyanka Chopra as well. It’s a wonderful collaborative process- this whole acting thing. It’s so personal in so many ways.”
About Jim, Ranveer had earlier said, “He enriched my performance. He is one of the biggest takeaways of the film. A lot of the film has been cut out, and a lot of that was about Khilji and Malik but it still has the impact. Jim gets full credit for it.”
