Having delivered a string of commercially unsuccessful films at the box office like Bombay Velvet, Roy, Besharam, and Jagga Jasoos, among others, Ranbir Kapoor was going through a rough phase in his career. Cut 2, Ranbir delivered Sanju and everything changed overnight. After Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju, Ranbir Kapoor became the most sought-after actor, being showered with all the respect that an actor ever dreams of. Because let’s admit, Ranbir Kapoor’s performance as Sanjay Dutt in Hirani’s biopic film was par excellence.
In an interview to HT, talking about his failures, the actor said, “Actually, [handling] success is easy. When you are successful, you don’t really feel it because people are only full of praise, but failure teaches you a lot. It will slap you hard, and you won’t even realise it.” After the success of Sanju and having Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra in the pipeline, Ranbir is in a happy headspace. However, the actor believes that one should not take successes too seriously. “I don’t even give myself too much importance. I feel I am just an average actor and a below-average person, who just got great opportunities. Yes, I have good belief and confidence in myself that I can do something. And that’s why I am successful, because otherwise, I am not saving the world. I am just acting in movies so just can’t take it that seriously,” explains Kapoor.
But as we speak, Ranbir Kapoor is a happy man, both personally and professionally. While the actor is reportedly dating co-actor Alia Bhatt, he has wrapped up Brahmastra shooting schedule in Bulgaria. Prior to Brahmastra, Ranbir Kapoor and Ayan Mukerji have created magic on screen in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Wake Up Sid, both of which were hits at the Box Office. Now, we will have to wait to see if Ayan and Ranbir get the box office rolling with their third outing, Brahmastra.
