Looks like Bollywood won’t fade away from the habit of picking up an old iconic song and remixing it any time soon. With scores of iconic songs like Mungda and Chalti Hai Kya 9 se 12 already being recreated and remixed, reports now suggest another such song is soon on its way. Turns out, Rajkummar Rao and Mouni Roy’s soon-to-be released film ‘Made In China’ will feature an iconic Gujarati song that that makers have given their own little twist to.
As per a Pop Diaries report, the source close to the film said, “The makers of Made In China will be recreating Gujarati song Odhni Odhu Odhu Ne Udi Jaye for the film. While the shoot for the song will take place over a period of 2 days, due to Rajkummar’s busy schedule, the makers are yet to finalise a day to shoot it.” The original song which is sung by Alka Yagnik is a huge hit during the festival of Navratri.
In the film, which is a quirky comedy, Rajkummar and Mouni will be playing a married couple. While Rajkummar’s character is that of a struggling businessman, Mouni plays a simple housewife who is by her husband’s side and pushes him to go to China when the opportunity arises.
Made in China is being helmed by national award winning director Mikhil Musale who is set to make his Bollywood debut with the film. It is being produced by Dinesh Vijan. The film was earlier scheduled to release on August 15 but the makers pushed it two weeks ahead and now will hit the screens on August 30.
