Netflix pays a whopping amount to Aamir Khan for the digital rights of Dangal
Aamir Khan’s Dangal touched many hearts when it released last year and went on to become a box office hit. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal traces the journey of Mahavir Phogat and his daughters Geeta and Babita. The film also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra and Sakshi Tanwar in the lead roles.
Both the critics and viewers appreciated stellar performances by the lead cast of the film. Post it’s box office success, Aamir Khan signed a deal of INR 75 crore with a leading Television channel. Now, there were reports that Netflix has also approached the Khan for the digital rights for the film and apparently the deal has been locked for INR 20 crore. Reports also suggested that Aamir was keen on to sign the deal.
Our sources have confirmed the news and even added that the amount is way more than it’s being reported. Well, it’s expected out of an Aamir Khan film to make business at the ticket windows and even three months post the release.
Currently, Aamir Khan is prepping up for his next film, Thugs Of Hindostan. The film is said to be based on the novel Confession of A Thug written by Philip Meadows Taylor. In an event, Aamir had talked about his look for the film and said, “After I finished shooting for Dangal, it was so tiring that I have let go a bit. Now, I’m cut down a bit, I don’t have 38% fat now. I want to get to 9%, but I don’t want to be muscular. In Thugs, my look is not like a wrestler’s  physique – big and broad shoulders and back. I want a more lean look.”
Not just Thugs of Hindostan, Aamir will also be seen in Secret Superstar.
