A film that has been the talk of the town lately is R Balki’s Mission Mangal. Based on the story of the scientists behind India’s mission to Mars, the film stars Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharman Joshi, Nithya Menen and Kirti Kulhari in important roles. The first song of the film is all set to be unveiled today and is called, Dil Mein Mars Hai. The trailer came out a few days back and managed to leave everyone in awe of the story of the scientists behind India’s Mangalyaan.
Now, in an interview with Bombay Times, the director shared details of the song, Dil Mein Mars Hai and how they came up with the anthem. The director of Mission Mangal mentioned that the idea behind the song was to give an anthem of sorts which celebrates the never give up attitude of the scientists. The director revealed that earlier versions which they had created for the song had too many technical terms which didn’t connect. Later, the director mentioned that lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya and R Balki worked to simplify it.
Jagan mentioned, “We tried a few things, which were very techheavy and they somehow didn’t bring out the emotion that we wanted to highlight. Then, we decided to try something simple, which brings out the underlying sentiment clearly. The idea was to highlight the scientists’ undeterred spirit to achieve their goal and Dil Mein Mars Hai says it all. The song is more like an anthem that plays out at different junctures in the film. It almost binds the story together. Each scientist working on Mission Mangal has their own idea for this ambitious venture, but faces roadblocks while executing them.”
The first song will be out today and it will showcase the journey of the Team of Mission Mangal overcoming all odds against them. The film is helmed by Jagan Shakti and is being jointly produced by R Balki and Akshay Kumar. The trailer received an overwhelming response from the audience and the roles played by the female actors in the film were loved. Mission Mangal is slated to release on August 15, 2019.
