Singer Mika Singh, who was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a 17 year old Brazilian girl has been released after the Indian Embassy intervened. Mika had allegedly sent the teenager obscene photos on whatsapp. He was arrested the day before at 3 AM from a bar in Bur Dubai and was taken to Abu Dhabi police station as the complainant is holding an Abu Dhabi resident visa. A complaint was lodged in Al Muraqqabaat police station post which he was taken to Abu Dhabi. Mika had reportedly promised the girl a job in a Bollywood film.
The singer’s team confirmed to ANI yesterday that he has been detained for alleged harassment and questioning is underway. His spokesperson told Hindustan Times, “Mika is being framed. The investigation is on and he is cooperating with the authorities. Soon the truth will be out.” Mika was released at 11.30 PM last night after the Indian Embassy intervened. ANI reported, “Following efforts by the embassy, singer Mika was released at 11.30 pm. He will be produced before a court.” Mika will be produced before court today.
Mika Singh’s brother Daler Mehndi spoke to us about the case and said that he has not been able to speak to Mika since his arrest and the girl who has lodged a complaint works in his group since the last 3-4 years and is always accompanied by her mother.
Mika had posted photos on social media about his Dubai trip and some hours ago also shared another video about his song in Simmba.
