#MeToo: Ishita Dutta: After Tanushree Dutta, a lot of women come to me and share their stories

A few months back, former Miss India Tanusheee Dutta spearheaded the Me Too movement in India when she renewed a decade-old sexual harassment case against Nana Patekar that took place on the sets of 2008-film Horn Ok Pleassss. Post Tanushree, a lot of women have mustered the courage to come out in the open and accuse their sexual predators. From Nana Patekar, Sajid Khan, Alok Nath, Subhash Kapoor, Kailash Kher, Anu Malik to Vikas Bahl and others, a lot of prominent personalities have been accused of sexual misconduct and while Tanushree Dutta is back to the USA, her sister, Ishita Dutta was quizzed about the Me Too movement.

Actor Ishita Dutta, whose film Blank starring Karan Kapadia released on Friday, informed Bollywood Life, “Few things that happened during that time really touched me. Random women shared their stories with me and they expressed as to how they felt encouraged to open up because of my sister. I remember, at an event, a journalist shared her ordeal with me and she couldn’t stop crying. The lady sat with me for two hours, it really touched me. Things don’t change easily, it takes time. At least now a movement has started, and it will definitely go somewhere.” A few days back, Tanushree Dutta had written an open letter to Ajay Devgn for working with Me Too accused Alok Nath in his upcoming film De De Pyaar De and while Ajay had said that he is extremely sensitive towards the Me Too movement but it is incorrect to single him out, Ishita who has worked with Ajay Devgn said that her sister is supporting the truth, and this won’t hamper her relation with Ajay Devgn.
