Saif Ali Khan, who was on a maternity break, post the birth of his son Taimur Ali Khan in December 2016, is back in action.
The actor will be soon in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon, which is based against the backdrop of World War II. Saif will be seen in the role of a ruthless, Parsi producer, Rusi Billimoria. Rusi develops an obsession forKangana Ranaut aka Julia and how their love story transpires when Shahid Kapoor steps in.
Rangoon is Saif’s second venture with Vishal after Omkara in which he played the much-lauded character of Langda Tyagi. In an exclusive interview to Pinkvilla, it was revealed that Saif was the first person to know about Rangoon’s concept and also Vishal’s first choice for the role (he is essaying).
Now, the makers of Rangoon the making of Rusi’s video which shows Vishal, co-star Kangy and Saif speak the character. In Saif’s own words, ‘It is a violent, intense and a dramatic kind of character.’
We have seen the shades of a possessive lover, a negative side to Rusi which earlier was seen in Langda Tyagi’s role.
Rangoon will see Saif in the role of a filmmaker who is in love with Julia (Kangana). Shahid is playing the soldier named Nawab Malik who falls in love with Julia during a train journey.
Rangoon is produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and will release on February 24.
