Yesterday, Anurag Kashyap took to his Twitter page and gave us a hint about his new company and new film. The director wrote, “New company, New film, New beginnings…”. After his tweet, everyone was curious and wondering what his next project is and with whom.
As reported by Times of India, Anurag is all set to collaborate with Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew. Roshan has worked in films like Aanandam, Puthiya Niyamam, Moothon and others and received praises for his performances. The news that Roshan is a part of Anurag’s film was revealed by director Geetu Mohandas on his Facebook page.
About collaborating with the Gangs of Wasseypur director, Roshan said, “Anurag sir has done a part of Moothon’s Hindi screenplay and has also co-produced the film, and he happened to watch it during the editing phase. He liked what he saw and immediately gave me a call. He said that he has a script for a film that he is planning to do, and asked me to see whether I am interested in it. It was as simple as that.”
Roshan Mathew added, “I loved the script, but I would have done the film if at all I didn’t. Soon after, I called him and we met once in Mumbai. I also went on to work in another Malayalam film and then, he called me around the time the shoot of this film was about to start. There weren’t too many procedures.” He feels that Anurag’s working style is without too many preparations and everything is on the sport. He can’t say much about his personal preparations.
About speaking Hindi, Roshan shared that he lived in Mumbai for 2 years from 2014 as he was doing a course at Drama School. At the theatre school, they had English and Hindi as the medium of instruction. They also had student production after the course which was in Hindi.
