Mahesh Babu forgets to mention Puri Jagannath in his Maharshi speech; later tweets about it

The makers of Mahesh Babu starrer Maharshi hosted a grand pre-release event of the film yesterday which was attended by thousands of fans. Superstar’s fans from all the corners of the Telangana state attended the grand event yesterday. Maharshi is just a few days away from the release and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to promote the film. Mahesh Babu like always left his fans amazed with his dashing personality. The Prince of Tollywood also gave a speech where he mentioned about directors like K Raghavendra Rao, Krishna Vamsi, Gunasekhar, Sreenu Vaitla and Koratala Siva who he has worked with.

However, he forgot to mention the most important person who has made him a superstar today. Mahesh Babu took to Instagram and shared a message for director Puri Jagannath. He wrote, “missed mentioning an important person in my speech today. In my 25 films journey, it was #Pokiri that made me a superstar. Thank You @PuriJagannath! ! ! Thanks for giving me Pokiri . A film that will be always remembered.” The superstar got his first ever hit of his career with Pokiri directed by Puri Jagannath.

Four Nandi Awards, two Filmfare Awards South including Best Popular Feature Film for Pokiri managed to win the hearts of the audiences. The film starred Mahesh Babu, Ileana D’Cruz and Prakash Raj in the lead roles, but what made Pokiri superhit was Puru Jagannath’s direction.

In his speech, the superstar also revealed that he didn’t want to work with Vamsi Paidipally initially as he had two films in the kitty. However, what made him say yes for Maharshi was, “I thought I will send back Vamsi after listening to the line for 10 minutes. But his 20-minute narration stunned me. He waited for me for two years to come on board.”

Maharshi also starring Pooja Hegde and Allari Naresh in the lead role is releasing on May 9th.
