It was only a few day back that the makers of Laxmmi Bomb had unveiled the first look of Akshay Kumar from the film and while fans were super thrilled to see Akshay in a never before seen avatar, but looks like, right after the first look, there is a major roadblock for the Akshay Kumar starrer. Why? Because within minutes of dropping the poster online, the director of the film, Raghava Lawrence, stepped down from his position citing multiple reasons- creative differences with the producers.
Raghav Lawrence took to social media to announce his exit as he wrote, “In this world, more than money and fame, self-respect is the most important attribute to a person’s character. So I have decided to step out of the project, Laxmmi Bomb, the Hindi remake of Kanchana. I don’t want to mention the reason because there are multiple reasons, but one of them is that the first look poster of the film was released today without my knowledge and even without discussing anything with me.” Now, post Raghav’s exit, the producers met on Sunday and decided the future course of the film and according to a report in Mumbai Mirror, a new director has been roped in. “The second schedule is only in September and things will fall in place by then. Akshay has allotted bulk dates for a 40-day marathon shooting spell in Mumbai. With Raghava, there was a communication gap which was difficult to breach. So we have to take a decision on the new director soon,” as reported by Mirror. While Laxmmi Bomb was supposed to be Raghav’s directorial debut in Bollywood, the films marks the return of Akshay Kumar to the horror-comedy genre after a whopping 12 years. On Saturday, Akshay took to social media to unveil the first look of the film and alongside the poster, Akshay’s caption read, “Bringing you one bomb of a story,#LaxmmiBomb starring @Advani_Kiara & yours truly!Bursting in cinemas on 5th June,2020? Fox Star Studios Presents A Cape of Good Films Production in association with Shabinaa Entertainment & Tusshar Entertainment House Directed by Raghava Lawrence”.
Laxmmi Bomb is the Hindi remake of the Tamil horror-comedy, Muni 2: Kanchana, and in the film, the character is possessed by a transgender ghost. While the film went on floors in the end of April in Mumbai and during the shoot, Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani filmed a song titled Bismillah.
