Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor’s chic flick Veere Di Wedding has been delayed for over a year now. The movie which was to begin last year, will finally go on-floors from September this year. Director Shashanka Ghosh recently went on a recce and has finally decided to shoot it across Thailand and India.
A source close to the film’s unit informed a tabloid, “The locations are almost as significant as the characters. Of all the places he visited, he found Bangkok most appropriate from the story’s point of view. That will be the first overseas schedule. The film is essentially a road trip, so it will also move to a few other locations in Thailand followed by Malaysia and four cities in India.”
Initially, producer Rhea Kapoor had confirmed that the movie will begin in August. But the source now states that it will roll out only in September. “That’s because rains the in the east could affect filming. Before that, individual portions of the four actresses will be shot in Mumbai,” explains the source.
Adds the source, “The plan was always to shoot across three countries. However, budgetary constraints required the film to be shot over just one schedule. It will be a straight 50 day schedule with no breaks in between.”
Veere Di Wedding will mark Kareena Kapoor Khan’s return to the big screen post her pregnancy and the birth of her son Taimur Ali Khan. The actress is undergoing a rigorous training to get in shape for the movie which also stars Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania in the lead.
