John Abraham has today begin shooting for his next film titled Parmanu. The movie will be based on the nuclear test conducted at Pokhran in 1998 and is being helmed by Abhishek Sharma.
Sharing the clapperboard from the sets, John wrote on Twitter, “Day 1…Parmanu.. The Story of Pokhran. Our biggest test ever!!! @johnabrahament @kriarj #Parmanu (sic).”
Earlier, reports even suggested that John has also handpicked an efficient technical crew to keep the movie as authentic as possible. The tabloid quoted John saying, “I have never been in a hurry to produce films and have been searching for subjects that are engaging… stories that resonate with the current socio-political and economic mood of the country .This film fits in perfectly with my pursuit, and I am also happy to start my association with Prernaa and Arjun.”
Director Abhishek said “I’m glad to collaborate with John. His involvement as an actor and producer adds great value and credibility to my vision.”
The movie is scheduled to release in December this year.
Apart from this, John is gearing up for his maiden Marathi production, Savita Damodar Paranjpe. The film is based on a critically acclaimed play by the same name. Directed by Swapna Waghmare, the film stars Subodh Bhave, Rakesh Bapat and Trupti Toradmal.
