It has been four years since Jiah Khan passed away after allegedly committing suicide at her Juhu residence. While reports suggest that it was a suicide, her mother Rabia Khan accused her then boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi of murdering her daughter.
Since then Rabia and the Pancholis are fighting it out in the High Court. In a fresh turn of events, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday informed the special court that the chat between Jiah Khan and Sooraj Pancholi on BBM (Blackberry Messenger) couldn’t be recovered.
CBI’s response came in after Jiah Khan’s mother Rabia Khan had filed an application to thoroughly check the Call Data Records (CDR) of Sooraj Pancholi, his father Aditya Pancholi and Sooraj’s friends Karan Joshi and Devraj Chaudhari. Rabia had claimed in her application that the BBM conversations between Jiah and Sooraj before Khan’s death were an important part of the evidence and should be brought on record.
Following the application, special public prosecutor Dinesh Tiwari told the special court, that he has sought the documents which Rabia asked for.
“The CBI had carried out an investigation regarding the deleted BBM messages from the BlackBerry mobile of the accused. The mobile was forwarded to FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory), Gandhinagar, Gujarat, for analysis and report. But, they could not recover the deleted messages from the mobile,” CBI said in its reply.
Reportedly, the CDRs of Aditya Pancholi didn’t reveal anything incriminating and the same of Karan and Devraj could not be furnished.
Sooraj’s lawyer Prashant Patil spoke to a tabloid and said, “The arguments on Rabia’s application will be heard on the next date.”
The next hearing for the case will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017.
