Jiah Khan Case: Sooraj Pancholi to Get His Passport Back

Sooraj Pancholi recently filed a petition to get back his passport, for which CBI gets deadline till today. As per a popular daily, the Bombay High Court has finally accepted the application filed by him and his passport will be returned to him. Justice M R Bhatkar has allowed the plea and made Pancholi submit an undertaking before the court trial court stating, that he would produce the passport as an when required by the court.

Jiah Khan’s mother Rabia Khan has also filed a petitioned in the Bombay High Court seeking investigation in regards to homicide, for which the hearing is pending. The court replied to this, “The division bench of the high court hearing that petition has not given a direction to not return the passport thereby this court was not bound by any orders.”

Rabia’s advocate Hiten Vengaonkar wanted time till Thursday on the basis of the opposition to the plea which was granted to Sooraj by the HC.

Sooraj has been accused of abetting the suicide of his girlfriend, actress Jiah Khan. She had allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan on June 3, 2013, in her Juhu residence. On June 10, 2013, Sooraj was arrested on June 10, on the grounds of abetting the suicide. But he was granted bail by the Bombay High Court and was released on July 2, 2013. After which his passport was confiscated and Sooraj had filed a petition for getting his passport back to travel abroad for his professional commitments.
