Ring the alarm! It’s finally happening! Two powerhouse talents, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira are confirmed to perform at Super Bowl 2020 Halftime Show, which takes place on February 2. Hyping us up further are the musicians themselves who shared photos of each other to further confirm the news. While Jennifer wrote, “This is happening. 02.02.20,” Shakira shared the sentiment and wrote, “Get ready. 02.02.20.” Given that the Super Bowl is taking place in Miami, Lopez’s fiance, Alex Rodriguez gushed, “So proud and SO EXCITED! Bringing it home! Going to set the #305 on.”

NFL brought together JLo and Shakira for a segment as Jennifer spoke about how much she loves the fact that Super Bowl 2020 is taking place in Miami, a “very Latino town.” Shakira shared that being able to represent the Latino community, which is such an important force in the United States, is a humbling honour. JLo added she loves that the upcoming Super Bowl has two Latino women performing, which is a marker of a new time for NFL and the country. The Hustlers star believes that it sends an important message while making a statement of love, unity and getting everybody to come together for a moment which hopefully, resonates for a long time.

Jennifer and Shakira are yet to decide on what the set is going to be for the special day but the duo were all praises for each other. About Lopez, Shakira gushed, “She’s a champion in everything she does. It’s going to be fantastic to be sharing that moment with someone like you.” On the other hand, about Shakira, Jennifer gushed, “She’s such a dynamic performer. She does her own thing, there’s nobody like her, so I know that the two of us together are going to bring that special brand of what we do.”
