Here’s why Shraddha Kapoor’s Haseena Parkar got delayed
Shraddha Kapoor is all set to shed her girl-next door image on screen and transform into the bold, raw and badass Haseena Parkar. Starring in her first biopic, Shraddha has got an extreme makeover and has an uncanny resemblance to Dawood Ibrahim’s beloved sister. The film has been in news ever since it has been announced. The film also headlines as it’s release date was postponed twice.
Initially, it was supposed to release on July 14, but later got pushed to August 18. Back then, the makers said that it was to avoid the clash with Jagga Jasoos. Now, the film is finally releasing on September and will clash with Sanjay Dutt’s Bhoomi.
“They wanted to get a better release date as there has been a lot of hard work, research and thought put behind each and every scene of the movie,” read a statement issued by the producers. “The producer, Furqan Khan, owes a lot of people money and they are not allowing the movie’s release,” a source told a leading daily.
Interestingly, Furqan is Shraddha’s uncle Pradeep (Tutu) Sharma’s partner. “It is because of Tutu that Shraddha did the film. Now, she is upset with him, too, for what is happening to the film,” added the source.
Director Apoorva Lakhia had earlier said, “As a director, it is very important for me to ensure that the film reaches out to the maximum audience as it takes a lot of patience and perseverance to make a film on a subject like this. We are all set to release on 22nd September and hope the audience loves it as much as we loved working on it.”
