While Deepika Padukone is winning hearts at the 2019 Cannes red carpet, hubby Ranveer Singh is busy shooting for Kabir Khan’s next film titled ‘83. To begin the prep for the film, the entire squad of the film jetted off to Dharamshala to start training for the film, which is based on the life of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev and during their training, Kapil Dev himself came to train the boys. Post Dharamshala, Ranveer Singh headed to New Delhi to spend time with the cricketer and learn the ropes of cricket and observe him closely before Ranveer gets into the shoes of Kapil Dev and starts shooting for the film and knowing Ranveer Singh, we are sure he is going to leave no stone unturned to grasp the maximum he can from Kapil Dev so that he does full justice to his role on the screen
And after all the training, according to reports, the film will go on floors in Glasgow on June 5, 2019. “The team has been having marathon meeting every day and all the actors who had been training regularly for two hours have been putting in extra time before the shoot begins. Ranveer was recently in Delhi to spend time with Kapil Dev before getting into his shoes and the former cricketer is also expected to drop in on the sets,” as quoted by Mirror.
Besides shooting at a local cricket club for a week in Glasgow, the cast and crew of the film will also be shooting at other popular locations like Dulwich College in London, Edinburgh cricket club, Nevill Ground at Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent and the Oval cricket ground. And talking about the film, the director of the film, Kabir Khan, informed, “Since it’s a real life story, this film involved a lot of training and research. Now that it’s going on the floors, starting with the Glasgow schedule, everyone’s excited to recreate a journey that made history, all thanks to our cricketing heroes of the ‘83 team.”
Talking about ’83, the film is a sports drama based on India’s historic win against West Indies at the 1983 Cricket World Cup. Besides Ranveer Singh, the film also features Saqib Saleem, R Badree, Harrdy Sandhu, Chirag Patil, Pankaj Tripathi, Ammy Virk and Saahil Khattar as members of the World Cup squad. Besides the players, Pankaj Tripathi will be playing the role of their manager Man Singh and he Too will accompany the team in Glasgow. On the work front, Ranveer Singh was last seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy and post ‘83, Ranveer will be seen in Karan Johar’s Takht.
