Here’s when Ranveer Singh & Kareena Kapoor’s Takht will go on floors; to be shot in a start to finish schedule

Ever since it was announced that Karan Johar is ditching his romantic genre and coming up with a period drama and that too with an ensemble cast comprising of Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar, the buzz around Takht has been at an all time high. Although after the failure of Kalank, reports suggested that Takht has been postponed since Karan Johar wants to rework on the script but looks like the filmmaker is all set to roll because according to reports, the shooting of Takht will kick-start in February 2020.

Not just this, Karan Johar is going the extra mile to ensure that unlike Kalank, he doesn’t go wrong with Takht and therefore, the filmmaker will be hosting acting workshops for the cast “with diction and body languages” so that they get the nuances of their characters right. According to a report in Mirror, everyone in the film has a different look. For an example, while Anil Kapoor has to put on weight, Ranveer Singh and Vicky Kaushal are expected to look leaner. Talking about Takht, it is a period drama and the story is about two warring brothers, inspired by the fight for the throne between the songs of Shah Jahan – Aurangzeb and Dara Shukoh.

While Bebo will be playing Ranveer and Vicky’s sister in the film- the First Lady of the Mughals, the roles of Janhvi and Bhumi have been kept under wraps, but we are sure Karan is planning it on a massive scale and he is sure to take all his fans and the film industry by surprise. “The film kicks off in February with a start-to-finish schedule. Being a period film, the technical team is presently focused on the sets and locations and the script while also deciding on the diction and mannerisms of the characters. Work on the visual effects will take place simultaneously with the shoot so the film is ready on time,” as quoted by Mirror. Prior to Takht, Karan Johar had directed Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma’s Ae Dil Hain Mushkil and the film performed well at the box office.
