At the 61st Grammy Awards, one of the biggest highlights of the evening was the musical tribute by the best of the best sensations to the legendary performer and singer, Dolly Parton. The stars of today got together to pay a heartfelt musical tribute to the musical rockstar. From Miley Cyrus to Katy Perry to Kacey Musgraves, all were a part of this tribute. Grammys every year decides to award the Recording Academy’s MusiCares Person of the Year to a legend and this year, it was Dolly Parton.
The most amazing part of the tribute was where Dolly Parton herself joined the ladies on stage who were out to pay a musical tribute to her. She took to the stage with Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Kacey Musgraves, Maren Morris and Little Big Town. The audience could be seen losing their minds with joy seeing all of them performing live. Dolly Parton is a legendary country singer and has won about 8 Grammys previously including the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011. She has been nominated a lot of times too.
The tribute started with Katy Perry and Kacey Musgraves crooning the revamped version of Here You Come Again followed by Dolly’s Godchild, Miley Cyrus taking to stage with the song ‘Jolene.’ She was joined by Dolly alongside for this number which made everyone nostalgic. Post this Maren Morris took the stage to sing, ‘After The Gold Rush.’
However, in the end, the highlight was when the country stars, Little Big Town performed ‘Red Shoes’ along with Dolly. The fans were going crazy all throughout the performance. But then came the biggest surprise of all when all the stars got together to sing Dolly’s ‘9 to 5’ and there wasn’t a person in the Staples Center who wasn’t on their feet jumping with joy. The entire performance including the heartfelt speeches by the singers were all for the global musical legend, Dolly Parton.
