Over the past few weeks, it seems like there were several times that Game of Thrones and the Avengers: Endgame stars almost switched places. A while ago, there were reports doing the rounds revealing that Avengers: Age of Ultron star Elizabeth Olsen auditioned for Queen Daenerys in the hit HBO TV series Game of Thrones. Imagine Elizabeth almost brought King’s Landing on their knees. Now, we are shocked to find out that GoT star Emilia Clarke almost made it to the Avengers universe. The actress portrayed the role of Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones.
A recent update from the Marvel Cinematic Universe reveals that the on-screen Khaleesi featured in Iron Man 3. Yes, Emilia came so close to sharing the big screen with another Stark altogether. Iron Man 3 writer Drew Pearce took to Instagram and shared a picture of the reading table. The picture shared featured Drew’s name with his character name. In the caption, he revealed that GoT alum Emilia was also part of the movie. However, destiny had other plans for Emilia.
He wrote, “My finest hour: at an early Iron Man Three table read. Downey, Cheadle, Emilia Clarke (long story, the script changed)… all vaguely terrifying. Obviously this was in 2012 when everyone was more racist and thought all British people sounded the same. Still, belated apologies to @paulbettany and I hope I didn’t let him down.”
No! Why would God do this to us! We would have had Emilia have a dual Stark effect. Back in 2011, Emilia had already begun Game of Thrones. She was already on her way to bump into the Starks. Iron Man 3 released in 2013. If the actress was a part of the movie, she would have been the lucky one to have met both the Starks.
This wasn’t the only franchise Emilia was supposed to be a part of. A few days ago, the actress confessed she was offered Dakota Johnson’s role in Fifty Shades of Grey but gave it a pass.
