Avengers: Endgame may have broken all records but Dwayne Johnson placed the rock on the top position of Forbes’ highest-paid actors’ list of 2019. The Hobbs & Shaw actor has been in the news for his surprise wedding. The Rock announced that he had tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend Lauren Hashian in a Hawaiin style wedding earlier this week. To add the cherry on the icing, Dwayne has been declared the highest-paid actor of 2019. Dwayne beat Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor) for the top spot.
The international publication reveals that Dwayne earned a whopping $89.4 million from June 1, 2018—June 1, 2019. During this period, Dwayne starred in just one movie, Skyscraper, but Forbes notes that the wrestler-turned-actor minted “$700,000 per episode for HBO’s Ballers and seven figures in royalties for his line of clothing, shoes and headphones with Under Armour.” His earnings also include a huge percentage of his box office returns from his successful franchise movies.
Dwayne was followed by Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr on the second and third spot respectively. The Thor actor posted an earning of $76.4 million while the Iron Man star, who kissed MCU goodbye this summer, flaunted an earning of $66 million. The Avengers: Endgame stars were followed by Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. With an earnings of $65 million, Akshay became the fourth highest-grossing actor of 2019.
The top five highest-grossing actors 2019 list was rounded off with Jackie Chan who posed as earning of $58 million. Others in the list include:
