Filmmaker S.S. Rajamoulis magnum opus Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has stormed its way into the theatres. With its release in over 6500 screens in India and over 9000 screens across the world — the highest for an Indian film till date — Baahubali 2 is setting new records at the box office.
The numbers are out and they are as per the expectations. The film has become the first in history to cross the 100 crore nett mark on day one. Trade analysts mention that though the exact numbers are to be revealed soon, the estimates are as follows:
Hindi Markets – 35,00,00,000 Nizam / Andhra – 45,00,00,000Tamil Nadu – 14,00,00,000Karnataka – 10,00,00,000Kerala – 4,00,00,000
As for the Hindi version, the closing numbers are in the 35-40 crore nett range. However trade pundits mention that the numbers are likely to go up tomorrow.
The news is that the numbers are likely to reach up to 115 crore or even 120 crore nett.
The film, released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, features Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati and Tamannaah in the lead. One reason behind such a craze for the film is the response that Baahubali: The Beginning got when it released in July 2015. The film minted over Rs 600 crore and left fans amazed with one question – why did Kattappa kill Baahubali?
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion will not have any competition in theatres for the next two weeks.
