Bareilly Ki Barfi: Ayushmann Khurrana and Kriti Sanon’s Bairaagi is about one-sided love
Rajkummar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana and Kriti Sanon’s film Bareilly Ki Barfi has finally hit the screens and has been doing well at the box office.
The story of Bareilly Ki Barfi revolves around three persons — Chirag, Pritam and Bitti played by Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar and Kriti Sanon. Apparently, the title originated from a book named The Ingredients of Love: A Novel by French author Nicolas Barreau.
The makers have now released the romantic track Bairaagi. The song shows Ayushmann Khurrana’s un-professed, one-sided love for Kriti Sanon aka Bitti. You would relate to the song if you have gone through such a phase in your life. Sung by Arijit Singh and Samira Koppikar, the emotional song has been written by Puneet Sharma.
The movie is written by Ashwini’s husband Nitesh Tiwari. Talking about this she had said, “Expectations build up in a good way. There’s no denying that people look at him more than me. I’m glad because it helps my film. But I don’t want people to misinterpret it as me living under his shadow. I have not directed this film because of his guidance. He never comes for my shoots because people are quick to assume that he is overpowering my work. We are aware of these issues but we never keep any ego between us. Yes, it does bother me sometimes.”
She went to add, “But we can’t control how people think.  The best part was when we both won awards at the same award function, and it was gratifying to see him clapping with my mum. And I did the same when he won. We are both individual achievers. There is the mindset that if a woman is doing well, there has to be a man helping her with it. I have to live with this. I am proud of being Nitesh Tiwari’s wife.”
