Bahubali 2: How Sridevi missed out on playing Ramya’s role Sivamani in this magnum opus

As S S Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 broke all kinds of records in Indian cinema, movie-lovers are still reeling from the after-effects of this magnum opus. The movie has become the first to garner a whopping Rs 1000 crores at the box office.

We saw veteran actress from the south, Ramya Krishnan enthrall the audience as the elegant and courageous Sivamani. News has it that Bollywood’s own diva  Sridevi was offered this meaty role. However, while Ramya agreed to play the part for Rs. 2.5 crores, Sri apparently charged a good Rs. 6 crores, which was rejected by the makers.

Well, what do you think of that? Do you think Sridevi could have pulled off the role better than Ramya?

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is co-written and directed by S. S. Rajamouli. It is the sequel to Baahubali: The Beginning and is made in both Telugu and Tamil languages. The film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Anushka Shetty in lead roles.

As for Sridevi, she will next be seen in hubby Boney Kapoor’s production venture MOM. The movie is being directed by Ravi Udyawar and stars Sridevi, Akshaye Khanna, Abhimanyu Singh, Sajal Ali and Adnan Siddiqui in the main cast. Nawazuddin Siddiqui will appear in a special role in the movie.
