As Zaira Wasim quits Bollywood, she also opts out from Priyanka Chopra starrer The Sky Is Pink promotions?

It was on Sunday that National award winner Zaira Wasim took to social media to inform all her followers that she is quitting Bollywood because it threatens her religious sentiments. Soon after, while some B-town celebs lashed out at her for her regressive views, others believed that it is her life and that she is entitled to her own opinions. From Ranveena Tandon, Anupam Kher, Niteish Tiwari to Kangana Ranaut’s sister, Rangoli to others, a lot of B-town celebs have voiced their opinion about this Dangal actress ‘decision to part ways with Bollywood.

Now, Zaira’s last film that she shot for is Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar’s The Sky Is Pink and according to latest reports, she has opted out of the promotions of the film. “With the film eyeing an October 11 release, the makers were planning to kick off the promotions by August-end. It was evident from Zaira’s Facebook post on Sunday that she has decided to severe her ties from films. In keeping with her decision, she has requested the makers to excuse her from the promotional activities,” as quoted by Mid-day.

The cast and crew of The Sky Is Pink recently celebrated the wrap up of the film in Mumbai and Zaira had made an appearance for the same in an orange floral dress. In the film, Wasim plays motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhury, who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and since Zaira plays a pivotal role in the film, we are sure she would be needed to be part of the promotional campaign, however, with Zaira opting out of the promotions, it will be interesting to see what does the director, Shonali Bose, and producers of the film, have to say to it.

On Sunday, Zaira shocked everyone when she posted a note on social media announcing her exit from Bollywood. “As I had started to make sense of the things to which I dedicated my time… I realised that though I may fit here perfectly, I do not belong here.”
